The Great Conundrum

If there is
no heaven
we might as
well be
dry
dead
skeletons,
only bones
and
sand
withered
skulls
leering
out on
the white
sand desert
of time,
if their
is no
God,
all we are
is skin and bones
sailboarding
on
vanity's
vast
river
and all
the vain
dreams
that we
have,
if there is no
purpose
then everything
we
do
is
a waste
of
time
as animals
eat other
animals, and
some eat plants,
and plants eat
animals,
long, long
after
they're
dead,
that seems
like purpose,
and if you
think that
the theory
of purpose
does not
exist
why do we
have graves
and
monuments
and tombs?
maybe we
should
throw
our
dead to
the animals,
without
God,
everything
is
total
enigma
